Direct Support Professional/Driver
About The Position
CDD is a nonprofit, community-based organization that supports individuals with developmental disabilities in their own homes throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area. The Community Access Driver provides transportation for individuals with developmental disabilities to and from community activities, appointments, and events. This is also a full-time Direct Support Professional role while driving the company van. The role is mainly Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed. The position is located in Kansas City, Missouri, 64133. CDD offers incentives based on agency-wide goals and differentials for behavioral homes, homes with high medical needs, and Saturday and Sunday shifts. CDD is an equal opportunity employer.
Requirements
- Valid Missouri Class E or Kansas Class C driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe and reliable transportation for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Assist individuals with entering and exiting the vehicle.
- Ensure the vehicle is clean and well-maintained.
- Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and staff.
- Follow traffic laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage and services provided.
