About The Position
Our Day Services program provides individuals the opportunity to participate in a variety of group activities throughout the day at a site or in the community. We are looking for a direct support professional to help promote independence and self-esteem to persons with disabilities in a Dayhab program site and community based setting.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A valid NYS license and clean driving record.
- Computer Skills: able to use email; google suite; database systems
- Ability to drive and driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage are required.
- Daily access to a vehicle.
- Ability to pass SCIP/CPR
- Ability to be Med Certified
- Ability to Lift 50 lbs
Nice To Haves
- Verifiable direct care experience
- 20 + years of experience/education
- Energetic DSP that enjoys site and community based work
- A professional manner, patience, empathy and possess a strong desire to help others.
Responsibilities
- Promote independence and self-esteem to persons with disabilities in a Dayhab program site and community based setting.
- Introduce individuals to community based and site-based activities that inspire growth.
- Interact with individuals in a positive and encouraging way.
