About The Position

For over 60 years, The Trudeau Center has supported individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities—empowering them to live their best lives. Now we’re looking for compassionate, reliable people to join our team! As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you’ll provide hands-on support in our Community Based Work Program working 1st shift primarily with some 2nd shift. You’ll help individuals find meaningful opportunities to work, play and find ways to give back within the community. In this role, you will also assist one two shifts per week in the residential setting, assisting with daily routines, personal care, social activities, and more, helping them live with dignity, independence, and joy.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and personal vehicle
1-2 years' experience with the IDD population
Strong communication, patience, and a team-player attitude
Comfort with physical activity (lift up to 40 lbs., bending, walking, etc.)
Willingness to learn CPR, Safety-Care and behavior support techniques

Responsibilities

Provide hands-on support in the Community Based Work Program.

Help beautify community spaces.
