About The Position

PathPoint is hiring part-time Direct Support Professionals to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Ventura’s Integrated Work Program (IWK). The program combines community integration with opportunities at paid part-time employment contracts and volunteer sites throughout Ventura County. Direct Support Professionals help participants strengthen workplace abilities, build life skills, and develop meaningful relationships. This role may be a starting point for people interested in social work, special education, or occupational therapy, and PathPoint offers opportunities to advance. No experience is required; willingness to learn is important.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Patience, compassion, and positivity.
• All positions require criminal record clearance, TB screening, and a basic health screening.
• Most positions require a valid driver’s license, use of a vehicle with registration and insurance, and eligibility for coverage on PathPoint’s auto insurance policy.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience supporting individuals with disabilities, professionally or personally, is preferred but not required.
• Bilingual skills may qualify for additional pay if needed for the position.

Responsibilities

• Support a small group of typically three to four individuals in a community-based program.
• Transport and accompany the group to job sites, volunteer placements, and community outings.
• Provide hands-on coaching as individuals build vocational and life skills.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and positive social interactions.
• Facilitate structured activities focused on employment readiness and daily living skills.
• Complete end-of-day documentation and progress notes.
