This role involves providing direct support and assistance to individuals in accordance with their service or program plans. Responsibilities include aiding with socialization, behavioral development, personal care, housekeeping, recreational activities, transportation, community orientation, shopping, financial management, citizenship, and other activities of daily living. The position also requires accurate documentation of progress and activities, maintaining confidentiality, and assisting with money management and the safety of individuals’ funds and property. Maintaining healthy and professional relationships with individuals, their families, guardians, and case managers is crucial. The role also involves reporting any instances of alleged abuse or neglect and medical, behavioral, or other incidents according to policy. Additionally, the trainer must respect the rights of persons being served and practice universal precautions.
