About The Position

All’s Well Healthcare has partnered with the State of California’s Department of Developmental Services (DDS) to offer a statewide, paid three-month job-shadow training program. Participants are matched with organizations supporting adults with special needs and shadow experienced staff to gain hands-on experience. Participants may be offered a permanent position if there is a mutual fit, and hiring may occur at any point during the three-month program, sometimes as early as the third week. As a Direct Service Professional (DSP) Intern, you will work under the supervision of an experienced DSP mentor for up to three months and 30 hours per week. You will shadow, train, and learn how to support individuals with diverse developmental and/or intellectual needs as they work toward more independent and fulfilling lives. Duties vary according to each individual’s needs and goals. The position pays $16.90 per hour, with potential conversion to $18–$21 per hour. Weekly pay and incentives are offered. The schedule is Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., with hours varying by location.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent, or a Certificate of Completion.
Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle.
Must pass a background check and required health screenings.
