About The Position

Intercity Packers Ltd. is seeking a Full Time Direct Sales Representative located in Edmonton, Alberta. This role is responsible for driving new bulk commodity and sales growth. The company is the largest meat/seafood distribution company in Western Canada and part of the Gordon Food Service (GFS) Canada group. They are dedicated to their customers and committed to their people, believing in treating each other with respect and working as a team. Requirements

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license, vehicle and ability to travel as required.
  • 5 years of sales experience in the food and beverage industry.
  • Direct-selling and account management experience required.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and diplomacy skills, with a high degree of tact and persuasiveness.
  • Effective communication in an open and direct manner; conveys information clearly and concisely, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Proficiency with the Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Hangouts, Slides)

Nice To Haves

  • Sales experience in a protein food service company is a huge asset.
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related discipline preferred, or other job related equivalent business experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a business plan and sales strategy for your assigned accounts to ensure attainment of company sales goals and objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for total growth through analysis and sales insights.
  • Initiate and coordinate development of action plans to penetrate new markets.
  • Collaboratively work with internal departments, in particular Product Development & Operations.
  • Respectfully and capably represents the best interests of Intercity Packers in all internal and external dealings.
  • Builds relationships with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
