About The Position

True North Group is seeking a Direct Sales Leader to represent the company to small and mid-sized businesses while coaching and mentoring new sales representatives within a territory. The role combines independent, field-based sales work with leadership and team-development responsibilities. The leader sets an example by teaching representatives to prospect, present, and close with integrity, and helps new agents build confidence and consistency through their early policies and presentations. The position includes meeting business owners and decision-makers, presenting benefits to employee teams, following up on leads, setting appointments, training new agents in the field, supporting client relationships, and tracking personal and team sales activity. The company offers hands-on leadership training, weekly draw pay, commission and bonus eligibility, performance incentives, renewal commissions, and opportunities for advancement. Hours become more self-directed as the representative develops a team and book of business.

  • A leadership mindset and interest in mentoring and helping others succeed.
  • Clear communication skills, including the ability to explain complex ideas to individuals and groups.
  • Organization, reliability, follow-through, activity tracking, and commitment-keeping.

  • Host regular team check-ins, help teammates track progress, and foster a positive team culture.
  • Work with a manager to set monthly personal and team goals and track key sales activities across the territory.
  • Help clients and team members’ clients with claims, renewals, and benefit questions.
