About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Staff to join our team and support individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients by providing personalized care and support in a dynamic and supportive environment. Full-time shift available: Monday to Friday - 3:00pm to 11:00pm Part-time shift available: Saturday and Sunday - 10am to 6pm

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain patient, empathetic, and professional in challenging situations
• Basic knowledge of behavioral health principles and safety protocols
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required for community outings

Nice To Haves

• additional training in behavioral health or related field preferred
• Prior experience working with individuals with IDD or in a behavioral health setting is a plus

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management
• Monitor and document clients’ behaviors, progress, and any changes in condition
• Support clients during community outings and recreational activities
• Collaborate with team members, families, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care
• Maintain a safe, clean, and respectful environment for clients and staff
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all residents at all times.
• Cook and serve meals. Follow the facility menu as posted.
• Responsible for completing items listed on the facility Chore Sheet as directed by the administrator.
• Responsible for assuring all residents are treated with dignity and respect.
• Responsible for the supervision of all resident medication procedures.
• Ensure that all residents receive their proper medication at the proper time.
• All narcotics will be counted and documented on each shift.
• Daily chart documentation
• Be familiar with The Wood Group’s policy and procedures to include employee handbook.
