About The Position

Futures Through Choices is seeking compassionate, caring, energetic, creative, and fun individuals to join their team as Direct Care Support Staff. This entry-level, part-time position offers a starting rate of $16.00 per hour and involves assisting individuals with disabilities to achieve their greatest potential and a greater level of independent living. Responsibilities include helping clients prepare meals, assisting with personal hygiene needs (including toileting, showering, and changing briefs), and guiding them in making healthy choices while promoting their right to self-determination. The role also involves taking clients into the community, attending events, and preparing appropriate activities. Maintaining a safe and sanitary living environment through basic housekeeping and laundry is also a key responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Helping clients become as self-sufficient as they are physically and mentally able.
• Assisting clients in preparing meals.
• Assisting clients with hygiene needs, including toileting, showering, and changing briefs.
• Helping clients make the best choices for themselves, such as choosing healthy menus, while promoting their right to make choices.
• Taking clients out into the community and attending events with them.
• Preparing crafts and other appropriate activities for clients.
• Ensuring the living area, including all contents and surrounding areas, are in a safe and sanitary condition.
• Performing basic housekeeping and laundry.
