About The Position

Center for Human Development (CHD) is seeking Direct Care staff to work in a small residential group home within our DMHAS program located in Chicopee, MA. Staff will be on-site 24/7 to assist with daily living skills, community integration, medication administration, support for connection and community integration, and social and recreation opportunities. The current ratio is 1:1 during all shifts, working with an individual client. This home provides a positive, supportive environment for individuals with mental health and substance abuse history, enabling them to live in the community with assistance. The residents are three males living in their own apartment, with diagnoses including Autism, Major Depressive Disorder, Extreme Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Mood Disorder, Psychotic Disorder with Possible Delusions, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Tourette syndrome, Coprolalia, Anxiety, Contamination obsession, and PTSD. These diagnoses may result in behaviors such as physical aggression, verbal aggression, infringement of personal space, and uncooperative behavior at times. Extensive clinical training is provided for this role.

Requirements

Valid driver's license (all drivers under the age of 21 must have 3 years of driving history)
