The Direct Care Staff is responsible for the daily care and supervision of children in the emergency shelter; ensuring their health, safety and well-being are protected. This role involves maintaining a nurturing, therapeutic, and safe environment, providing for the children's physical needs, counseling, teaching, and guiding children, and positively interacting with parents, caseworkers, teachers, therapists, and other team members. The Direct Care Staff is a member of the child's team, actively participating in quality assurance activities and team meetings to ensure quality care. The position requires adherence to safety training and protocols, protecting confidentiality, and upholding the organization's Code of Conduct and Faith and Moral Policy. A solution-oriented approach and collaboration are expected. Attendance and successful completion of a 10-day New Employee Orientation is mandated.
