About The Position

All’s Well Healthcare has partnered with the State of California’s Department of Developmental Services (DDS) to offer a paid, three-month shadow training program. The program matches participants with organizations that support adults with special needs. Participants shadow experienced staff to gain firsthand experience and may be offered permanent employment if there is a mutual fit, sometimes as early as the third week. As a Direct Service Professional (DSP) Intern, you will work under the supervision of an experienced DSP mentor for up to three months and up to 30 hours per week. You will shadow and learn how to support people with diverse developmental and intellectual needs in living more independent and fulfilling lives. Duties vary according to each person’s needs and goals. The listed schedule options are Monday through Friday, 8:45 AM–2:45 PM, 8 AM–2 PM, or 9 AM–3 PM. Pay is $18.45–$22 per hour, with weekly pay and incentives offered.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or a Certificate of Completion.
Must have a valid identification card or driver’s license.
Must pass a background check and other required health screenings.
