The MAX Technology Area Director (TAD) is responsible for the execution and growth of a portfolio of technologies and programs that research and develop RF/cyber capabilities for the DoW. The Technology Area Director is responsible for the management of a portfolio of programs within the MAX area. This management includes: Development, growth, and execution of the portfolio strategy to grow R&D pipeline while transitioning matured technologies to business areas Aligning and facilitating transition of capabilities into Electronic Systems Business Areas Executing the portfolio of programs with a multi-disciplinary cross-functional team Aligning external customer goals with internal business expectations for successful delivery of business salients Mentor and grow junior technology development managers and scientists Ensuring “how” we work is aligned with A3 cultural principals of Inclusion, Balance, and Continual Improvement This position reports to directly to the A3 Product Line Director and is based out of our Merrimack, NH facility, though it will require collaboration with staff across our business areas and facilities in the Northeast. Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time. Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship status and eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. Key aspects of this role: Accountable for all aspects of project initiation, planning and execution (cost, schedule, technical performance, quality, customer engagement, etc.) and ensuring integrated project team commitments are met. Responsible and accountable to the Business for program execution, profitability, timeliness, and overall success. Makes decisions that are cost effective to the company and ensures assigned projects meet financial commitments for orders, sales, profit and cash flow. Requirements

  • US citizenship status and eligibility to obtain a US security clearance.
  • An understanding of life cycle management.
  • Knowledge of defense contract types.
  • Strong communication skills both internal and customer facing.
  • Typically, a bachelor’s degree with greater than 12 years of professional experience, or a master’s degree and greater than 10 years of professional experience or a Doctorate and greater than 8 years of professional experience.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance with ability to attain DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Strong desire to collaborate with internal/external customers to improve proliferation of technology.
  • Experience providing technical and management leadership to a diverse team of scientists, engineers, and managers.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience capturing and leading projects at the cutting edge of technology.
  • Ability to define, propose, and lead independent research and development.
  • Demonstrable entrepreneurial drive.
  • Business development / program capture experience.

Responsibilities
