About The Position

The Gill Corporation is a leading manufacturer of honeycomb, high-performance floor panels, cargo compartment liners, and original equipment for aircraft. The company also specializes in reinforced plastics, including interior sandwich panels for galleys and bulkheads, honeycomb core, and related products. The Dip Operator is responsible for dipping core blocks in resin, curing them in an oven, and cooling them.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Good math skills
  • One or two years of related experience and/or training
  • Acceptable Spirometry Test results (full/ half respirator use).
  • Must be able to lift, push & pull a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Must have English reading and verbal communication skills sufficient to read, understand and communicate the company operating procedures and policies.
  • Must be available to work the shift specified by the position and be flexible to potential overtime on weekends/ holidays.
  • This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”). In order to comply with the requirements of the ITAR and/or the EAR, applicants will be asked to provide specific documentation to verify U.S. person status under the ITAR and the EAR. Responsibilities

  • Turns afterburner and Nomex oven on/off as required.
  • Uses programs for dipping loaves.
  • Adds resin and alcohol to tank as needed.
  • Cleans dipping frames and tank as needed.
  • Calculates and records the amount of alcohol and resin used per block.
  • Weighs loaves before and after dipping, and records on work order.
  • Sets oven temperature controls and places dipped units in oven to bake and dry for specified time.
  • Records densities and all other necessary information on work order.
  • Reports labor and issues material to Visual software.
  • Must be available any shift, over-time and weekends.
  • Other duties may be assigned dependent on TGC business requirements.
