Responsible for coordinating patient meal service, including menu selections, tray assembly, tray delivery and pick up, and special requests for the Dining on Call Program. Ensures employees are adequately trained and units are properly staffed to provide service. This role oversees Nutrition Operators, Workstation, and Wait Staff Associates, ensuring the strategic and operational objectives of the Dining on Call service are met. The position involves assisting in employee selection and orientation, and overseeing the training of Dining on Call staff. It requires working with Nutrition Operators to accommodate patient dietary needs, including allergies, sensitivities, and cultural preferences, within prescribed diet guidelines. The supervisor will evaluate patient meal selection, tray completion, delivery, and retrieval processes daily, and must be responsive to patient needs, resolving concerns immediately or escalating them to a supervisor. Compliance with dietary restrictions, development of action plans, and coordination of daily/weekly activities for the Dining on Call staff are key responsibilities. The role includes developing and posting employee schedules, communicating job flow changes, and interacting with nursing staff to ensure accurate diet prescriptions and patient food needs are met. Timely submission of required documentation and reports is essential. The supervisor will also visit patients to ensure management interaction during their hospital stay and must comply with all regulatory agency standards, including health, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines.
