About The Position

The Dining Services Director is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals to 32 residents in a safe and sanitary manner, adhering to Public Health Regulations and the Sanitation Code. This role involves preparing food for regular and therapeutic diets based on planned menus and doctor's orders, ensuring proper quantities are prepared on schedule, and catering to special events as directed. The position also requires managing costs within budget, overseeing 1-2 staff members in the Dietary Department, and managing food orders, deliveries, and stock, as well as staff scheduling.

Requirements

  • Must possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or a GED.
  • Ability to operate a computer.
  • Must provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test.
  • Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, agitated residents.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals to 32 residents in a safe sanitary manner in accordance with Public Health Regulations, and in compliance with the Sanitation Code.
  • Prepare food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu and written doctors’ orders.
  • Ensure that the proper quantity of food is prepared and in accordance with established time schedules.
  • Prepare food for special events as instructed by the Executive Director.
  • Maintain costs within budgeted parameters.
  • Manage 1-2 staff in the Dietary Department.
  • Manage Food orders, delivery and stock.
  • Manage staff scheduling.
