About The Position

The Dining Services Director manages the overall operation of the Dining Services Department. This position assists in maintaining a positive physical and social environment for the residents. Requirements

• At least one-year supervisory experience.
• Kindness and a desire to work with the elderly; enjoy working with people in general.
• A Food Handler's card or be able to get one.
• Formally trained in food service management or the culinary arts or have equivalent experience in food service management or the culinary arts.
• Capable of maintaining full-time attendance.
• Meet all health requirements.
• Good verbal communication and the ability to read, write, and speak English with residents and coworkers who only speak English.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to perform job responsibilities with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Menu development, cooking, ordering food and supplies, managing a budget, and maintaining inventory control.
• Create menus in partnership with the Culinary Specialist and your team.
• Inspire your team by modeling collaboration and teamwork.
• Demonstrate kindness and empathy for the elders you and your team serve.
• Work with the marketing, nursing, and Life Enrichment teams to showcase your work, determine food preferences, and for internal and external events where food is served.
• Supervise, assign duties, and direct the Dining Services team. (Cooks, Servers, Assistants, etc.)
• Interview, make hiring decisions, and orient new team members.
• Ensure that safety and sanitation policies are implemented.
