About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dining Service Director to oversee all aspects of dining operations within our assisted living community. This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead a team, ensure high-quality service, and promote a positive dining experience for our residents. The ideal candidate will be organized, compassionate, and knowledgeable about food service regulations and best practices in senior living environments.

Requirements

Proven experience in food service management, preferably in senior living or healthcare settings
Knowledge of state and local regulations related to food safety and assisted living standards
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively
Culinary skills and knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for seniors
Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment
High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

Culinary or food service management certification preferred

Responsibilities

Order food and supplies to ensure timely availability of ingredients and dining essentials
Prepare and cook meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and resident preferences
Manage and supervise a small staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all dining and kitchen areas
Attend food council meetings and collaborate with team members to improve dining services
Adhere to state regulations and industry standards for assisted living food service operations
Meet with residents and their families to discuss dietary needs, preferences, and special requests
Prepare and manage work schedules to ensure adequate staffing coverage
Monitor food quality, presentation, and service to ensure a positive dining experience
