About The Position

The Dining Services Attendant performs various duties necessary in the preparation or service of food. This is the first in a series of four classifications and is distinguished from the Dining Service Attendant, Senior in that incumbents do not have lead responsibilities. This class typically reports to Dining Service Supervisor or Cook Lead. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of cleaning equipment, products, techniques and standards.
  • Skills in using cleaning products and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and replenishes serving lines and serves customers in food service unit.
  • Serves items following portion control.
  • Performs food preparation tasks such as sandwich and salad making and beverage preparation, following written standardized recipes.
  • Cleans and processes fruits and vegetables and prepares various salads, according to written standardized recipes.
  • Weighs, labels, dates, and stores all food items.
  • Operates and cleans food service equipment.
  • Inventories area and completes required forms.
  • Cleans counter top, walls, shelves, drain screens and floor mats.
  • Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work area.
  • Stocks as needed.
  • Greets and serves customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Takes suggestions and passes them onto the supervisor.
  • Actively solves problems wherever possible.
  • Works harmoniously with coworkers.
