The Dining Services Associate is responsible for meal service to Members in assigned areas and for other designated duties in the kitchen, dining room, memory care, and transitional care units. Requirements

  • High school student or graduate
  • Ability to read and write.
  • Dependable, report to work on-time for every schedule shift and work full schedule shifts unless physically unable or pre-approved Paid Time Off (PTO).
  • Willing and able to work overtime and weekends as required.
  • Have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Must be clean and neat in appearance and have a “friendly,” hospitality-oriented, and service-oriented personality.
  • Abide by work-related / job procedures and organization policies.
  • Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the Friendly Home.
  • May be requested to assist in the evacuation of Residents or perform other procedures to protect the safety of Residents, visitors and team members during emergency situations.

Responsibilities

  • Sets tables and trays in assigned area with necessary items for the meal to be served.
  • May deliver food cart to appropriate unit.
  • Sets up trays for Members who are unable to attend meal service.
  • Sets up, serves, and cleans guest tables when needed.
  • Provides meal service on Memory care unit serving members meals utilizing decentralized dining system.
  • Follows established processes established for service on that unit.
  • Adheres to all established safety and sanitation guidelines and follows department policies and procedures.
  • Works in the dish-room and/or dining room as assigned, following correct procedures to ensure clean and sanitary service to Members.
  • Performs cleaning functions as assigned.
  • May be assigned to put stock away if lifting requirements (lifting up to 50 lbs.) can be met.
  • Participates in in-service education, department meetings and safety programs.
  • Performs other duties as required by management or by administration from time to time.
