About The Position

Allegro Fort Lauderdale is hiring a Full-Time Dining Services Assistant to join our busy, high-energy Dining Services team. If you have restaurant, hospitality, or senior living experience and you're ready for a role with consistent hours, a supportive team, and residents who genuinely appreciate what you do — this is it. The primary responsibility of the Kitchen Assistant is to set tables, bus tables, wash dishes, assist the Cook as needed, and complete cleaning duties. Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a restaurant, hospitality, or assisted living setting
  • Dependable, hardworking, and team-oriented
  • Strong attention to cleanliness, sanitation, and organization
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • A genuine desire to serve and connect with seniors
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Must have an awareness of safety practices.
  • Must have a positive Criminal Background Screening.

Nice To Haves

  • No certifications required
  • Minimum of six (6) months food service (or related field) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve meals to residents with warmth, care, and attention to detail
  • Set up and break down dining areas, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for every meal service
  • Assist with plating, portioning, and delivering meals according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen and dining areas
  • Work collaboratively with the culinary and dining team to keep meal service running smoothly and on time
  • Build genuine relationships with residents, learning their preferences and making every meal feel personal
  • Follow all food safety and handling procedures to ensure a safe dining experience for residents
  • Thoroughly wash all dishes, cookware, flatware, and utensils.
  • Properly maintain all dishwashing equipment.
  • Work as part of the Dining Services team to ensure smooth, efficient, and safe operation of the kitchen.
  • Help contribute to high quality Dining Services operations by paying attention to food presentation and taste, and courteous responses to residents and associates during meal service.
