About The Position

As a Dining Services Aide in a Grace Management Services facility, you will be responsible for various aspects of food service to ensure resident satisfaction and a clean, safe environment. This role involves preparing and serving meals, maintaining dining areas, and assisting with dishwashing and equipment care. You will work as part of a team and adhere to all facility policies and procedures, including those related to resident rights, infection control, and safety. The position requires the ability to follow directions, work cooperatively with staff, and understand potential exposure to hazardous chemicals or bloodborne pathogens.

Requirements

  • Ability to follow written and oral direction.
  • Ability to read computer screens.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to lift 35 - 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to balance, climb, crouch, grasp, kneel, pull, push, reach, stand and stoop adequately to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Must be able to hear, smell, feel and speak adequately to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Must be able to read and write the English language.
  • Accountable for the information in the employee handbook.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up resident trays and dining room tables.
  • Meal service including tray service to rooms or dining rooms.
  • Bussing trays in the dining room.
  • Assisting in preparing, portioning, and covering foods and beverages.
  • Maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Assisting in the proper care, use, and cleaning of food service equipment.
  • Working as a team with the food service staff.
  • Dishwashing, including scraping soiled dishes, operating the dish machine, sorting clean dishes, and transporting them to storage areas.
  • Assessing problems and breakdowns in dishwashing machinery and reporting this information to the dietary manager.
  • Working cooperatively with food service staff and other departments.
  • Adhering to all facility policies and procedures including resident’s rights, infection control, and safety.
  • Attending in-services, seminars and food shows as directed by supervisor.
  • Representing the dietary department in a professional manner and accepting duties from supervisor in a cooperative manner.
  • Completing other assigned duties as assigned by Dietary Manager.
