About The Position

The Dining Room Server assists with serving meals and beverages, bussing tables, and cleaning the dining area. The role serves residents throughout the dining experience and supports resident satisfaction by providing attentive, customer-focused service.

Requirements

Must be age 16 or older.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
Ability to promote teamwork in providing services to residents.
Patience and a customer-focused attitude.
Ability to operate basic kitchen appliances or willingness to learn.
Ability to stand, walk, and move about for 3–3.75 hours per shift without needing to sit down.

Nice To Haves

Enjoyment in working with older adults.
Some food-service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Serve residents meals, take orders, and assist residents throughout the dining experience.
Enter orders and close them out in the Dial-designated point-of-sale system.
Provide customer service to residents while serving meals.
Set tables for upcoming meals and reset them for the following meal.
Inform residents about the foods available on the day’s menu.
Address residents by name and learn their food and beverage preferences and dislikes.
Prepare beverages before meals and serve each resident their beverage of choice.
Keep water glasses, coffee cups, and/or carafes filled.
Clear tables as needed during meals and bus tables after meals.
Vacuum the dining room carpet after each meal.
Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, community operations, and personnel.
Report on-the-job injuries to a supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day they occur.
Perform other duties as assigned.
