This role involves leading, empowering, and managing the food service team for the dining room, room service, and special events for residents. It includes overseeing the preparation of the dining room for meals, serving meals to residents and guests, and servicing the dining room after meals. The dining room experience is characterized by crisp linen tablecloths, fine china, and top-quality fresh ingredients, offering made-to-order dining.

Requirements

2+ years of management experience in front of the house dining
High school diploma or GED (General Educational Development); or two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Fingerprint Clearance required
First aid and CPR certified.

Nice To Haves

Experience in food service in senior living, hospitality, residential, or club dining rooms are preferred.

Responsibilities

Directly lead employees in the dining room.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Ensure that wait staff dresses in designated uniforms that are clean and pressed.
Maintain the daily menu board.
Assist in establishing staffing schedule; monitor staffing schedule; and fill in when gaps in staffing exist, overtime can be avoided, and/or actual wages are trending higher than budget.
Confirm that dining room personnel extend exceptional customer service in seating residents, presenting menus and specials, answering questions, and making suggestions regarding food and services.
Make sure that tables are promptly and properly bussed.
Ensure that tables are cleared and reset in a timely and appropriate manner.
Ensure adequate staffing for exceptional service during all service hours (dining room is open from 7am- 7pm).
Ensure all holiday meals and special events are exceptionally serviced and remembered; work alongside the Executive Chef and Activities Director for all holidays and monthly special events.
