About The Position

The Dining Room Manager oversees the casual and fine dining operations of the a la carte restaurants, as well as assists with special events. This position manages staff in multiple outlets and requires a hands-on presence in the dining room. The role involves balancing excellent a la carte floor management with simultaneous private events, maintaining a solid financial understanding of the budget and internal controls, and being highly organized, efficient, and able to establish structure, standards, and procedures in restaurant operations. The Dining Room Manager should be visible and engaging with members and guests.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years serving, or supervisory experience required in fine dining or upscale restaurant.
  • Excellent communication skills, positive outlook, professional appearance and sincere passion for member service.
  • Full time flexible hours are required (able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays).
  • Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours; bend, push, pull; lift 30 lbs.
  • Proficient in computer skills including POS systems, Word and Excel.
  • Professional appearance appropriate for a premier country club.
  • Computer literacy and POS (preferably Jonas) knowledge are key.

Responsibilities

  • Anticipate Members’ needs and ensure that service meets/exceeds expectations to ensure a memorable and pleasant dining experience.
  • Manage the reservations and seating arrangements of members and guests.
  • Receive and greet members and guests; assist with seating.
  • Maintain a strong presence in the dining room.
  • Inspect dining room, table settings, chairs, floors, proper maintenance, cleanliness, and safety. Take immediate action to correct any issues.
  • Communicate to Chefs members’ preferences.
  • Expedite if the need arises.
  • Lead to achieve desired results in high quality service and experience for our Members and Guests.
  • Supervise all food & beverage service staff including hostess, servers, bussers, and bartenders during lunch and dinner services.
  • Responsible for assistance in onboarding, training, scheduling of service staff and maintaining uniform service standards.
  • Conduct daily line-up with dining room staff.
  • Assign side-work daily and assure completion of cleaning of equipment and storage areas at end of shifts.
  • Act as initial contact for disciplinary actions. Assure that actions are consistent and accurate. Provides timely detailed account of any disciplinary issues to the Food & Beverage Manager.
  • Assist with banquet room set up and break down.
  • Monitors dining room labor and supplies budget; makes adjustments as necessary to achieve financial goals.
  • Review daily and weekly functions with the Food & Beverage Manager.
  • Will work with the Food & Beverage Manager on beverage menu and wine list implementation and assist with banquets setup and staffing.
  • Produces daily/meal period sales analyses and other reports.
  • Keeps an inventory of dining room items including silverware, coffee pots, tea pots and covers, water pitchers, salt and pepper holders and sugar bowls.
  • Develops and implements an on-going marketing program to increase dining room business.
  • Render assistance to other departments members and employees as needed.
  • Oversee bar inventory and ordering as needed.
