About The Position

As the Dining Room Manager at Vitalia Rockside, you will be responsible for ensuring the dining room is impeccably maintained and that residents receive outstanding service. This role involves being a welcoming host, engaging with residents, and fostering an environment for connection. You will also be involved in preparing the dining area for service, including table setting, food preparation, and ensuring tidiness. A key aspect of the role is observing and communicating any changes in resident dietary habits or appetite to supervisors and the Wellness team.

Requirements

Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
Knowledge of the requirements for providing care and supervision appropriate to the residents.
Must have and maintain a food server permit as required by the county.
Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English at a minimum of 8th grade proficiency.
Must have a positive and energetic attitude.
Must be active, requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day.
Must have the ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to assist residents with sitting, standing, and walking, as well as assisting people after a fall.
Must be criminally cleared.
Must be in good health and physically and mentally capable of performing assigned tasks.
Health screening performed by a physician not more than six (6) months prior to or seven (7) days following employment.
Must test free from pulmonary tuberculosis at time of health screening.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience leading a hospitality team preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensuring the dining room is presentable and that service is impeccable.
Greeting residents and making them feel welcome.
Being present in the dining room, mingling, and entertaining residents.
Fostering an environment where residents can connect.
Prepping tables for service, salads for meals, and rolling silverware.
Bussing tables and sweeping floors.
Communicating with supervisors and Wellness regarding poor dietary habits, unusual changes in appetite, or resident absences from meals.
