Dining Room Host
About The Position
The Hillcrest Dining Room Host will be expert at engaging Hillcrest Members and their guests as they arrive to dine in the Dining Room, Grill Room and Patio. They will ensure the dining room is completely ready to receive our Members and Guests, greet Members by name, show them to their tables quickly and assist with seating. Displaying a true customer service orientation, he or she will always be alert to Member/Guest needs, capable of solving problems as they arise to ensure the dining experience is flawless. The Dining Room Host will work with the dining room Captains and Managers to ensure the floor plan for the next meal service is accurate and will coordinate with the team on the floor to ensure any large tables are accounted for and set up properly. They will coordinate with the front desk to ensure the most up to date reservation information is always available. They will be well acquainted with and help monitor and enforce HCC rules, policies, and safety procedures and provide input to performance reviews as requested.
Requirements
- A minimum of 1 year of previous service experience in a similar capacity
- Able to communicate effectively and professionally in English with all stakeholders
- Able to follow oral and written instructions and to memorize necessary information
- A team player able to work well with others
- Attention to detail, organized and proactive
- A complete knowledge of wine, food pairing and service procedures
- Able to quickly learn HCC menu, wine list and member names/faces
- A service-oriented personality, warm, friendly, and outgoing without being overbearing
- Exceptional grooming habits, maintaining a clean and complete uniform as designated by Management
- Punctual and reliable
- Able to work weekends, holidays, and long hours on short notice
- Able to juggle multiple competing priorities and meet deadlines, comfortable with frequent interruptions
- Bi-lingual English and Spanish
- Strong administrative and computer skills
Nice To Haves
- Current Food Handler Certification preferred
- CPR Certified preferred
