About The Position

McCormick Assisted Living is seeking an experienced and motivated Dining Coordinator to oversee the daily kitchen and dining operations while helping provide an exceptional dining experience for our residents. The Dining Coordinator will lead a team of approximately 10–15 Dining Services associates, ensuring staff have the menus, schedules, production lists, recipes, and other resources needed to provide high-quality meals and service. This position is responsible for maintaining food safety and regulatory standards, supporting staffing needs, managing department resources, and helping ensure the dining program operates within budget. The ideal candidate is an organized, hands-on leader with strong communication and problem-solving skills who enjoys working directly with residents and staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of management experience in a dining or food service program.
  • ServSafe Certification required.
  • Experience with relevant software and technology, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Strong communication, listening, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the day-to-day operations of Dining Services.
  • Supervise and support a team of approximately 10–15 Dining Services associates.
  • Assist with staffing, including filling open shifts and responding to call-ins.
  • Create and maintain Dining Services staff schedules according to organizational policies.
  • Conduct daily team huddles and maintain effective communication with associates.
  • Monitor and approve employee timecards.
  • Coordinate onboarding, orientation, and training for new Dining Services staff.
  • Conduct annual evaluations and corrective action in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Work with the recruiter to post open positions, screen candidates, and participate in interviews and hiring.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable health department, OSHA, food safety, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a safe, sanitary, and organized dining and kitchen environment.
  • Complete weekly and monthly audits, including refrigerator, cleaning, and temperature log audits.
  • Develop and implement action plans when necessary.
  • Monitor employee illnesses and communicate required information to Human Resources and Infection Control.
  • Oversee the Dining Services budget and assist with future budget and capital planning.
  • Ensure the department has the necessary equipment, supplies, and tools to operate effectively.
  • Coordinate equipment repairs and replacement needs.
  • Create and update menus in accordance with applicable State and Federal regulations.
  • Provide staff with recipes, preparation lists, production guides, and order guides.
  • Coordinate catering needs and collaborate with other departments.
  • Maintain the department's Emergency Preparedness Plan.
  • Participate in meetings, committees, action teams, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide hands-on dining support by working as a Cook or Server at least two days per week.
  • Promote a resident-focused, home-like dining environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
