About The Position

In this role you will be: Deliver meal trays to patient rooms or designated dining areas. Assist patients with opening food containers, setting up trays, and repositioning items for accessibility. Offer encouragement and basic feeding assistance to patients as directed and appropriate. Report appetite changes, swallowing difficulties, or mealtime concerns to nursing or dietitian staff. Verify tray accuracy based on patient diet orders and allergy information. Coordinate closely with food service and nursing staff to ensure timely delivery and pickup of trays. Retrieve trays and record food intake when required. Provide friendly, respectful, and responsive service to patients and visitors. Answer basic patient questions about meal options and refer dietary concerns to appropriate staff. Participate in efforts to enhance patient satisfaction with nutrition services. Follow infection control procedures and safety guidelines when handling food and interacting with patients. Clean and sanitize meal carts, tray tables, and work areas. Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
