About The Position

The Diner Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking in a fast-paced diner environment while maintaining high standards of food quality, consistency, and customer service. This position requires prior diner cooking experience, including working multiple stations, managing high-volume meal periods, and preparing traditional diner favorites. The ideal candidate is experienced in grill, fry, and prep operations, and can efficiently execute orders while maintaining a clean, organized, and food-safe kitchen.

Requirements

• Previous diner cook experience required.
• Experience working grill, fry, prep, and station setup in a high-volume kitchen.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently during busy periods.
• Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, kitchen safety, and sanitation practices.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Food Handler/Food Safety certification preferred.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items to order according to established recipes and quality standards.
• Operate grill, flat-top, fryer, and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Prepare classic diner offerings.
• Set up, stock, and maintain assigned stations with all necessary ingredients and supplies before service.
• Ensure proper portioning, presentation, and quality of all food items.
• Monitor inventory levels, follows cooking pars and communicates product needs to management.
• Properly label, date, store, and rotate food products using FIFO procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
• Work closely with leads, cashiers, and other kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate service.
• Perform opening, closing, cleaning, and other assigned kitchen duties.
