About The Position

Join our group of passionate digital experts shaping the future of digital products from the USAA mobile app to our chat bot technologies. We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Digital/Technical Product Manager Intern who is passionate about making an impact on the military community through the USAA mission. This internship will be based at the USAA Corporate Headquarters in San Antonio, Texas.

Requirements

  • To qualify, you must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university, and plan to graduate after the final day of the internship.
  • Most of our interns participate the summer between their junior and senior years.
  • Our 2027 internship will start on June 2, 2027 and last through August 13, 2027.
  • Graduation date cannot be prior to August 13, 2027
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and a passion for user-centric product design.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • A proactive attitude with a desire to learn and take on new challenges.

Nice To Haves

  • Academic concentration in Management Information Systems
  • Graduation date between August 2027 and July 2028.
  • Previous internships or project experience in coding languages
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies
  • First-hand knowledge of the military community

Responsibilities

  • Empathize with and deeply understand the unique needs of end-users to determine the fastest path to deliver value.
  • Translate business goals and end-user needs into a clear product vision, communicating direction and priorities to the development team, other matrixed teams, and third-party partners.
  • Identify goals, metrics, and analytics to determine product value; continually make recommendations and refine the product backlog based on learnings.
  • Manage and groom the product backlog, making decisions based on the value that will be delivered.
  • Monitor research and the competitive landscape to recommend the best solutions and ensure that products remain or become best in class.
  • Ensure that product directions balance user needs and business goals of driving new products, improving efficiency, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Work with design partners to formulate, test, and refine assumptions and hypotheses through user research.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth delivery and execution of product plans.
