Digital Surface Technician (First Shift)
About The Position
PDS Optical is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business that manufactures a large number of eyeglasses daily. We have Optical Laboratories in Louisville, KY and Fort Lauderdale, FL, and manage optical stores across the US and Puerto Rico. We are committed to delivering outstanding service in every pair of glasses we make for our Veterans. This role is for the first shift, Monday - Friday, from 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, with a starting pay of $16/hr. No previous experience is necessary as training will be provided. Requirements
- Must be able to stand and work on your feet for 8 hours.
Responsibilities
- Control the optical manufacturing equipment that blocks, generates, polishes, adds backside coating, and lasers the lenses to the designated curve on the concave side of the lens.
- Block incoming lenses.
- Transfer alloy from de-blockers to blockers.
- Learn how to run all machines within the digital surface department individually.
- Keep workflow going at a steady pace.
