The Digital Software Engineer Manager accomplishes results through the management of professional team(s) and department(s). This role integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area and contributes to standards around which others will operate. It requires an in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function, as well as how they coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the entire function. Basic commercial awareness and developed communication and diplomacy skills are essential to guide, influence, and convince colleagues and occasional external customers. The manager is responsible for the volume, quality, timeliness, and delivery of end results for their area. This may include responsibility for planning, budgeting, and policy formulation within their area of expertise, as well as short-term resource planning. The position entails full management responsibility of a team, which includes managing people, budget, and planning, along with duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions, and terminations, and may include budget approval.
