About The Position

Goodwill Dallas provides free job training and career development to support individuals with barriers exploring multiple pathways to self-sufficiency. Workplace skills, especially digital literacy skills, are key to preparing our clients for a job in today’s technological environment and to gaining new skills for their next career move. The Digital Skills Instructor will deliver Goodwill’s Information Technology curriculum that meets modern workplace standards, aligns with, and prepares students for employment and/or more advanced IT training, and utilizes a student-centered approach. This role provides training using hybrid service delivery systems, both in person and virtual.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in IT, education, or a related field preferred.
  • Industry certifications preferred: AWS, Google Suite, Microsoft Office Specialist, CompTIA (ITF+, A+, Security+, Network+), ITIL 4.
  • Proven experience in curriculum development, adult education, and instructional delivery.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Google Workspace, and web-based learning platforms.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills and familiarity with software installation and maintenance.
  • Experience in classroom instruction, one-on-one training, and train-the-trainer methodologies.
  • Knowledge of digital learning strategies, logic mapping, and basic coding preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.

  • Ability to travel independently within the Goodwill Dallas service area.
  • Completion of required training (e.g., Digital Skills Navigator Certification).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Lead Digital Skills Instructor to administer Goodwill Career Services digital skills training programs aligned with workforce trends and employer requirements.
  • Deliver high-quality instruction in digital literacy and IT fundamentals using in-person, blended, and virtual modalities, including on-site training at non-profit partners.
  • Facilitate online learning modules and manage digital learning platforms, including Google Classroom and LMS tools.
  • Implement strong customer service to welcome new clients seeking services and support them with the North Star assessment, a tool used to determine digital literacy levels.
  • Monitor student progress, conduct assessments, and ensure appropriate placement and support.
  • Maintain a clean and friendly environment in the computer lab/classroom, and report maintenance issues immediately to IT.
  • Maintain accurate student records, attendance, and performance data in Case Worthy.
  • Ensure compliance with program standards and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Represent Goodwill Dallas in community and employer engagement efforts to promote training programs and build partnerships.
  • Support outreach and recruitment efforts to expand program impact.
  • Responsible for performing their assigned duties within the framework of our Core Principles.
  • Attending in-service and related training as assigned by Management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
