This is a deeply technical, hands-on role for a leader who is passionate about writing and deploying code. This role is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas and People Leadership. Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function. Applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. A good understanding of the industry, direct competitors' products and services, is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Responsible for executing functional strategy in area managed. Accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy of the area(s). Full management responsibility for multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval. This engineering leader will be expected to drive innovation and technical excellence within our Travel and Benefits platform. The leader will own the end-to-end engineering strategy for digital travel benefits products, championing best practices in software design, architecture, and delivery across cross-functional teams. The leader will partner closely with product, design, and business stakeholders to build scalable, resilient systems that power seamless travel experiences for our customers.
