About The Position

This position will support the operations and growth of the Digital Research and Inquiry Lab in the Library. The Lab supports research on campus that uses digital methods and technologies to achieve research goals. This position contributes to the Lab’s impact by assisting with day-to-day activities, events, and promotion of services and initiatives.

Requirements

High school diploma or its equivalent.
Must be a current AU Student.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Punctuality and dependability.
Ability to identify visitor needs and recommend effective solutions.
Ability to learn new information and skills quickly.
Ability to work independently.
Interest in digital research methods or technologies.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience.
Experience with digital or multimodal research projects.

Responsibilities

Staff the Lab during opening hours.
Open or close the Lab as needed.
Assist Lab visitors with technology, furniture, or meeting spaces.
Provide recommendations to visitors on suitable Lab technology or equipment for their research needs.
Direct visitors with questions to the appropriate Library unit and/or person for further assistance.
Assist with the design, planning, and implementation of events for the Lab.
Support initiatives to promote the Library’s digital research services, tools, and resources to the AU community.
Contribute to various administrative projects for the Lab as assigned.
Take part in meetings with community partners as needed.
