About The Position

The Department of Neurology is searching for a Lab and Research Technician to support the lab of Francesco Michelassi, MD, PhD. The lab and research technician will assist in characterizing mouse models of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy. The selected candidate will perform behavioral testing, drug administration (tail vein injection, oral gavage, intraperitoneal injection, etc), tissue dissection, routine genotyping and crosses, immunohistochemistry and primary cell culture. Providing routine, technical, and administrative support for research projects is expected. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in translational research within neurology, with prior experience in experimental design, data assessment/interpretation, scientific presentation, and scholarly writing.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree required; may accept equivalent combination of experience, education, certification in lieu of degree.
  • 2+ years of lab experience which may include student experience.
  • Bachelor's degree required, may accept combination of experience/education/certification in lieu of degree.
  • 1+ year of relevant lab experience required.
  • Strong interest in translational research within neurology.
  • Prior experience in experimental design.
  • Prior experience in data assessment/interpretation.
  • Prior experience in scientific presentation.
  • Prior experience in scholarly writing.
  • Background checks and pre-employment health screenings will be conducted.
