About The Position

This position is the technical lead on ingestion of content into the library’s digital repositories, the co-developer of the library’s data and assessment dashboards, and the front-line support for ETD related activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education with a focus on analytics and data management or a related field from an accredited educational institution.
  • 1-3 years relevant work experience.

  • Knowledge of institutional repository software (for example Digital Commons and CONTENTdm).

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the 100+ graduate students each year in fulfilling the graduation requirement of completing the Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETD) filing. Works with the University Registrar, Graduate Council, and designated representatives from each school in assisting students, managing submissions, creating and updating documentation, and managing records. Ensures compliance with university guidelines, copyright law, and Proquest publishing rules for each dissertation and thesis.
  • Builds and leads the development of specialized collections with the institutional repository (Duquesne Scholarship Collection) in collaboration with faculty, students, the Spiritans, and other campus and external units.
  • Develops and provides instructional programs for management of research data as related to the institutional repository.
  • Assists the Head of Systems and Scholarly Communication with maximizing the $500,000+ library systems budget including the periodic review and replacement of the ILS and continuous evaluation of other library software products.
  • In collaboration with the Head of Systems and Scholarly Communication leads the development of the library analytics data collection and presentation on the Gumberg Library Dashboards.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
