About The Position

Versant Sports is hiring a Production Assistant to join their growing team of digital content experts on the Sports digital team. The ideal candidate is creative, adaptable, and very fast at clipping and creating digital video content. This role involves producing digital-first Sports content for platforms like YouTube, social media, websites, and mobile-optimized platforms. Prior experience in Sports video production, proven video editing skills, and a clear understanding of the differences between traditional media and digital-first content are essential. Experience as a multi-platform creator in Sports is highly desirable. This is a project-based, limited-term position with an estimated duration of up to 6 months.

Requirements

BA or BS from a four-year accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience producing short-form digital video content end-to-end for digital platforms.
Working knowledge with the Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere and Photoshop).
Demonstrated knowledge of sports, particularly Golf, NASCAR, WNBA, College Football, and/or Premier League.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Must be willing to work in Stamford, CT.
Must have work authorization to work in the United States.
Must be 18 years or older.
Must have the ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings due to sports schedules and game coverage.

Nice To Haves

Experience working for a sports league, team, or associated industry in a creative role.
Familiarity with live-video clipping platforms such as Wildmoka, WSC, Grabyo, etc.
Extensive knowledge of sports and internet culture and a pulse on the latest trends.
YouTube publishing and platform strategy experience.
Strong organizational skills; attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and willingness to work in a team environment.
Self-motivated with a proactive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Contributing to the day-to-day coverage of the Versant sports portfolio, including Golf, NASCAR, Premier League, basketball, and volleyball.
Editing segments from live sporting events and studio shows in real time using Adobe Premiere.
Creating 3+ digital video stories per day, often under tight Sports-driven deadlines.
Cutting multiple sports news highlights, often during live events, for digital video distribution.
Writing headlines, captions, and metadata to match video content.
Utilizing strong sports news judgment to identify the best clips to drive video views on Versant Sports sites, YouTube, etc.
Collaborating with Versant Sport’s video and editorial teams to create highly-sharable content.
Creating SEO-optimized headlines and captions that factually represent video stories and drive video views.
Optimizing sound and lighting quality in videos, creating simple graphic transitions, adding text on screen and other graphics, and easily exporting videos.
Contributing to team brainstorms by pitching content ideas to build video views, on-site and off-site traffic, and audience.
Producing branded content, as needed.
Juggling multiple projects with parallel timelines.
Maintaining voice and content standards across multiple platforms and brands.
