About The Position

Versant Sports is hiring a Production Assistant to join their growing team of digital content experts. This role focuses on creating digital-first video content for platforms like YouTube, social media, websites, and mobile. The ideal candidate will be creative, adaptable, and efficient in clipping and producing video content, with a strong understanding of the differences between traditional and digital media. Experience as a multi-platform creator in sports is highly valued. This is a project-based, limited-term position with an estimated duration of up to 6 months.

Requirements

BA or BS from a four-year accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience producing short-form digital video content end-to-end for digital platforms.
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere and Photoshop).
Demonstrated knowledge of sports, particularly Golf, NASCAR, WNBA, College Football, and/or Premier League.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Must be willing to work in Stamford, CT.
Must have work authorization to work in the United States.
Must be 18 years or older.
Must have the ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings due to sports schedules and game coverage.

Nice To Haves

Experience working for a sports league, team, or associated industry in a creative role.
Familiarity with live-video clipping platforms such as Wildmoka, WSC, Grabyo, etc.
Extensive knowledge of sports and internet culture and a pulse on the latest trends.
YouTube publishing and platform strategy experience.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and willingness to work in a team environment.
Self-motivated with a proactive attitude and a willingness to learn.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
Creative thinker who can look at digital trends and find innovative ways to tell a story in a piece of content.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the day-to-day coverage of the Versant sports portfolio, including Golf, NASCAR, Premier League, basketball, and volleyball.
Edit video content using Adobe Premiere.
Clip segments from live sporting events and studio shows in real time.
Create 3+ digital video stories per day, often under tight deadlines.
Cut multiple sports news highlights during live events for digital video distribution.
Write headlines, captions, and metadata to match video content.
Utilize strong sports news judgment to identify the best clips for driving video views on Versant Sports sites and YouTube.
Collaborate with Versant Sports' video and editorial teams to create highly-sharable content.
Create SEO-optimized headlines and captions that accurately represent video stories and drive views.
Optimize sound and lighting quality in videos, create simple graphic transitions, add text and other graphics, and export videos.
Contribute to team brainstorms by pitching content ideas to increase video views, traffic, and audience engagement.
Produce branded content as needed.
Juggle multiple projects with parallel timelines.
Maintain voice and content standards across multiple platforms and brands.
