About The Position

The Ontario Cannabis Store (OCS) is seeking a Digital Product Specialist to manage product deliverables for OCS wholesale and retail platforms. This role is crucial throughout the product lifecycle, supporting both B2B and B2C platforms. The specialist will collaborate with UX, Customer Experience, business units, and technology teams to translate business requirements into user stories, driving the delivery of new capabilities and optimized digital experiences. This position requires strong project coordination and relationship-building skills.

Requirements

  • Completion of post-secondary education in a related field OR equivalent experience.
  • 2-3 years of professional experience in a digital environment, including requirements gathering for a web-based platform.
  • Strong knowledge of product lifecycle management.
  • 2-3 years of professional experience in project coordination is required.
  • A proactive, customer-centric attitude combined with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and highly organized.
  • Sound communicator with the ability to present to different audiences with varying technical knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently on projects, with tight deadlines, under minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications as a CSPO, SAFe Agile or CSM is an asset.
  • Digital sprint scheduling experience would be a strong asset.
  • Experience with the following technologies would be a strong asset: JIRA, Confluence, Google Analytics, Shopify, ServiceNow &/or FIGMA.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of Kanban, Waterfall and Agile is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Organizing and managing product deliverables across multiple projects and enhancements for OCS wholesale and retail platforms.
  • Gathering requirements and feedback from stakeholders and cross-functional teams to inform roadmap prioritization.
  • Maintaining the development backlog and advising on prioritization during grooming sessions.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for IT during sprint planning and development phases.
  • Facilitating product retrospectives and collaboration sessions for continuous process improvement.
  • Understanding back-end architecture, system interdependencies, and APIs to assess complexity and communicate challenges to the business.
  • Gathering high-level requirements from business partners (merchandising, supply chain, customer care, etc.) to inform development approaches and make recommendations.
  • Advising and guiding cross-functional teams on building scalable solutions.
  • Overseeing product delivery phases in collaboration with the Senior Manager, delivery team, and project manager to meet timelines.
  • Interpreting user and business needs and translating them into application and operational requirements.
  • Understanding potential implications and dependencies and coordinating with various departments.
  • Managing the idea intake pipeline and translating requirements into user stories in JIRA.
  • Creating Confluence pages for SOPs, enhancement history, and project documentation.
  • Managing the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) program end-to-end, including stakeholder communications.
  • Writing concise and effective test cases.
  • Defining precise and accurate user story acceptance criteria for developers and testers.
  • Performing UAT against acceptance criteria and providing clear, concise, and timely test results.
  • Gathering UAT requirements through business analysis, task and workflow analysis, and stakeholder sessions.
  • Gathering defects and bugs from UAT and prioritizing fixes in coordination with the development team.
  • Communicating defects and bugs to business stakeholders, including impacts on fix prioritization.
