As a Digital Product Manager (DPM), you are responsible for contributing towards defining, delivering, and managing the lifecycle of one or more products in Allstate's growing product portfolio. The Digital Product Manager assists with supporting strategic product vision, product discovery, roadmaps, and backlog to maximize the customer and enterprise value provided by their product. Successful Digital Product Managers help to identify assumptions and validate those assumptions using product discovery techniques. The Digital Product Manager is responsible for working closely with Business Architects and key stakeholders, ensuring the successful definition and execution of go-to market and communications strategies for their products. The DPM will support the Use My Protection customer journey as we transform how we serve our customers and business partners throughout the claims journey using innovative and modern technology. We are seeking a strategic, execution‑driven product person, expertly living into Human-Centered design and Design Thinking practices to better understand needs and goals of our customers and employees, generating new ideas and features. They should be a creative problem solver in the face of technology and/or resource limitations and should be able to skillfully apply emotional intelligence to gain trust and influence across stakeholders. This individual will define and drive the strategic direction and vision for their digital product, iteratively delivering on consumer journeys and relevant demands.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience conducting product scoping, discovery, framing, owning and managing a backlog in an Agile environment, accepting user stories in Agility or similar tools
  • A minimum of 1 year experience delivering features for digital products with user focused design
  • Demonstrated ownership of breaking down product features into user stories with defined acceptance criteria, supporting more than 1 end-to-end feature delivery
  • Proven experience working daily with software engineering teams, evidenced by participation in XP team ceremonies (e.g., iteration planning meetings, retros, demos) and translating business requirements into technical deliverables
  • Experience delivering product work within a multi-team or enterprise-scale technology environment, including managing dependencies and sequencing deliverables

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within a claims, insurance, or regulated domain, with evidence of delivering product features in that context
  • Experience applying emerging technologies (e.g., AI/ML) to define or deliver product enhancements or new capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Measure and communicate results; make recommendations to leaders on additional product or experience opportunities.
  • Participate in discovery/test & learn activities to quickly validate assumptions and product direction.
  • Perform analysis and work that will support recommendations on product and process enhancements.
  • Use customer feedback, detailed market analysis, and data gathering to provide recommendations on decisions about product and experience strategy.
  • Contribute to the achievement of short- and long-term strategies to achieve product and experience goals for the UMP journey.
  • Own the product backlog (including author, test, and accept stories), contribute towards creating an effective vision and provide timely stakeholder feedback on development iterations.
  • Be an expert facilitator of digital product inceptions, ensuring appropriate KPIs, focus, and iterative deliverables with a bias for acceleration
  • Expertly negotiate iterative delivery and sequencing within backlog.
