About The Position

The Digital Product Manager contributes to the success of the team by maximizing the output of the engineering teams within an agile framework. They own key functional areas within our product space and are the go-to person for defining user stories and ensuring the timely delivery of a quality product. The Product Owner/Analyst is responsible for building a product backlog, accomplishing tactical objectives, and prioritizing the items to best achieve product goals. The role requires a solid work ethic and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The Product Owner/Analyst must be detail-oriented and willing to "roll up their sleeves" to get to the bottom of an issue. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Business Administration, or Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in technology product management/development
  • 2+ years of experience utilizing Agile methodology techniques, ceremonies, and reporting measures
  • 2+ years of experience related to the design and delivery of technology products and software-enable services
  • Ability to face very difficult problems/issues that require very complex analysis, working across enterprise level components and modules
  • Excels in spending time with end users, gathering feedback, and translating operational needs into system features

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in technology product management/development in the healthcare services/SaaS space
  • Experience with Rally, Aha or similar tool
  • Demonstrated interest in learning and understanding business processes and system workflows
  • Experience working directly with software engineers and quality assurance team members
  • Analytical and process-oriented mindset; proficient in analyzing qualitative and quantitative outputs
  • Experience working across multiple departments in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven solid verbal and written communication, strategic planning, problem-solving, and project management skills

Responsibilities

  • Execute the product roadmap by owning the feature set in a simply stated product backlog, adjusting the priority to account for technical and business needs
  • Develop quality user stories that are consistently written and adhere to acceptance criteria standards
  • Effectively navigate conflict between multiple business constituents and appropriately balancing risk with business value. Act as a trusted advisor for business stakeholders with the ability to manage expectations for major initiatives
  • Work with User Experience, Product Management, and Member operations teams, and targeted user groups, to understand the customers' needs and requirements
  • Maintain an open and constant communication amongst the team, management, and customers regarding project status and sprint outcomes
  • Provide transparency into development plans and upcoming releases to business stakeholders
  • Drive the product vision by actively influencing business initiatives with domain knowledge and experience
  • Define, own, and prioritize the product backlog, including acceptance criteria, to ensure alignment with product vision, business objectives, and customer needs
  • Make day-to-day prioritization and scope decisions for features, enhancements, defects, and technical work in collaboration with engineering and stakeholders
  • Accept or reject completed product builds based on agreed upon acceptance criteria and quality standards
  • Represent business and customer interests to the engineering team
  • Balance business value, risk, and technical considerations when determining feature sequencing and release readiness
  • Approve changes to product scope and requirements within their functional area, escalating as appropriate when changes impact timelines, cost, or strategic goals
  • Escalate delivery risks, dependency conflicts, and impediments that may impact sprint outcomes, releases, or customer commitments
  • Assure timely delivery of features via close collaboration with Scrum Master and development teams to define releases and eliminate roadblocks
