About The Position
RRD Commercial Print Company in San Antonio, Texas is recruiting a first-shift Digital Print Operator. The role requires thorough knowledge of equipment setup, adjustment, and operating procedures, along with the skill to set up, operate, and adjust printing equipment. The operator diagnoses, solves, and corrects operating problems that affect product or service quality and timeliness, and may instruct junior operators in corrective adjustments. Corrective work typically involves evaluating symptoms, possible causes, and remedies. Other duties may be assigned, and overtime may be required as necessary.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of equipment setup, adjustment, and operating procedures.
- Ability to set up, operate, and adjust printing equipment.
- Ability to diagnose, solve, and correct equipment or operating problems affecting quality and timeliness.
- Ability to evaluate symptoms, possible causes, and remedies when making corrective adjustments.
- Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and negligible to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and adjust printing equipment.
- Diagnose, solve, and correct operating problems affecting quality or timeliness.
- Instruct junior-level operators on corrective adjustments when needed.
- Operate inkjet, laser, xerographic, or offset duplicating printers.
- RIP files or review job instructions to prepare jobs for printing.
- Maintain daily print job production logs and delivery manifests.
- Set up, program, and release jobs from the print queue.
- Adjust image position, perforations, and folds on paper as needed.
- Monitor job output for correctness and image quality.
- Order printing supplies and maintain inventory levels.
- Work overtime as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
