About The Position

RRD Commercial Print Company is recruiting a Digital Print Operator in San Antonio, Texas, for the first shift. The operator sets up, operates, and adjusts printing equipment, using thorough knowledge of its setup, adjustment, and operating procedures. The role includes diagnosing and correcting operating problems that affect quality or timeliness, and may involve instructing junior-level operators on corrective adjustments. Operators consider symptoms, possible causes, and remedies when making adjustments. The job requires the ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, or negligible to 10 pounds constantly to move objects. Overtime may be required, and other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Thorough knowledge of equipment setup, adjustment, and operating procedures, with the corresponding skill to set up, operate, and adjust the equipment.
Ability to diagnose, solve, and correct operating problems affecting the quality and timeliness of the service, product, or function.
Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, or negligible to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

Responsibilities

Operate inkjet, laser, xerographic, or offset duplicating printers.
RIP files or review job instructions to prepare jobs for printing.
Maintain daily print job production logs and delivery manifests.
Set up, program, and release jobs from the print queue.
Adjust image position, perforations, and folds on paper as needed.
Monitor job output for correctness and image quality.
Order supplies, including ink, chemical solutions, blankets, rollers, paper, and tabs, and maintain inventory levels.
Diagnose, solve, and correct operating problems affecting quality or timeliness.
Instruct junior-level operators on required corrective adjustments when needed.
Work overtime as necessary and perform other duties as assigned.
