About The Position

Under general supervision, this role involves setting up, monitoring, operating, and maintaining digital printing systems. The specialist is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and economical operations to meet daily production goals while adhering to job and quality specifications. This includes operating digital printers to meet production and quality requirements, executing job tickets within customer quality standards, and maintaining quality at high output speeds. The role also requires effective use of the print management system, understanding and using proofs for checking printing attributes, and producing jobs using the most cost-efficient methods. Contribution to ongoing quality improvement programs and performing basic scheduled maintenance procedures are also key aspects of the position. Additionally, the role involves the operation of bindery/finishing equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED equivalent required.
  • Five (5) year’s digital printing experience.
  • One (1) year digital press operations experience.
  • One (1) year of bindery equipment operations.
  • Good organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must remain current in machine operations technology and satisfactorily complete required training programs.
  • Proficient with current industry standard PC applications and systems.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds in order to load and unload paper stock.
  • Ability to make decisions within scope of responsibility where operational guidelines or procedures are nonexistent.
  • Ability to proficiently operate printing presses.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in graphic design or printing preferred.
