About The Position

This role is for an existing vacancy at Haleon, a purpose-driven consumer company. The Digital Optimization Manager will be responsible for leading the execution and performance optimization of Retail Media across key Canadian partners, aiming to translate investment into measurable sales impact and stronger retailer relationships. The role involves executing full-funnel retail media plans with key Canadian Retail Media Networks to ensure Haleon brands are prominently featured in the digital aisle. It combines hands-on optimization, cross-functional collaboration, and financial stewardship to drive growth in the evolving retail media landscape. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada and relocation assistance is not provided. The salary range is $110,000 - $130,000, plus bonus and benefits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years’ digital marketing, digital media, or related ad-tech experience
  • 2+ years’ experience analyzing performance-oriented, digital media campaigns
  • 2+ years’ experience translating digital marketing data & results into actionable recommendations for cross-functional business stakeholders
  • Retail media expertise: Hands-on experience planning and activating campaigns across major retail media networks, including Loblaws Media (Loblaw Advance) and Walmart Connect; understanding of on-site vs. off-site tactics and how they fit together in a full-funnel plan.
  • Strategic planning & retailer alignment: Ability to translate brand objectives, category dynamics, and Joint Business Plans (JBP) into retail media strategy, annual/quarterly plans, and clear retailer-by-tactic recommendations.
  • Performance marketing & optimization: Strong command of campaign levers (bidding, keywords/queries where applicable, targeting/audiences, placement selection, pacing) with a test-and-learn approach to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Measurement & analytics: Proficiency in performance measurement and reporting, including ROAS, sales lift, incrementality concepts, and profitability; able to create insights that explain performance and drive decision-making.
  • Budget stewardship: Comfort managing budgets across retailers and tactics, making trade-offs based on performance, and clearly communicating investment rationale.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Proven ability to partner with Sales, Media, Shopper Marketing, and Brand teams to align retail media with trade, launches, and promotional priorities.
  • Retailer & agency management: Strong external relationship management skills—able to coordinate with retailer teams on betas, audience solutions, and measurement capabilities, and to brief/manage agency partners to deliver against plans.
  • Communication & storytelling: Ability to distill complex performance data into clear narratives, recommendations, and executive-ready updates.
  • Operational excellence: Detail-oriented with strong project management skills to manage multiple brands/activations at once, timelines, assets, and stakeholder inputs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution and performance optimization of Retail Media across key Canadian partners.

  • Drive growth in Canada’s rapidly evolving retail media landscape through optimization, collaboration, and financial stewardship.
  • Media execution and implementation across key partners (including Loblaws Media, Walmart Connect) supporting Haleon’s portfolio of OTC, Wellness, and Oral Healthcare brands.
  • Align media plans with brand priorities, category dynamics, and retailer joint business plans.
  • Recommend budget allocation by retailer and tactic based on ROAS, incrementality, and profitability.
  • Own end-to-end Retail Media planning across on-site and off-site retail media placements, managing execution of full-funnel retail media.
  • Test bidding strategies, creative variations, and audience segments to improve performance.
  • Track ROAS and sales lift, driving the organization towards a better understanding of media’s impact on sales.
  • Manage scale activations, bringing together multiple brands within the Haleon portfolio.
  • Partner with Sales teams to align media investments with trade terms and retailer expectations.
  • Partner with Media Team to align plans with brand-led strategies and activations.
  • Work with shopper marketing and brand teams to support innovation launches and promotions.
  • Coordinate with retailers on beta opportunities, audience solutions, and measurement capabilities.
  • Coordinate with Agency partners to activate programs.
  • Manage financials/invoicing for Loblaws Media, Walmart Connect, Instacart.
