About The Position

Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital is seeking a Digital Officer to join our Marketing & Communications team. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and detail-oriented digital communications professional who enjoys balancing content creation, analytics, social media, and digital operations in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. As the Digital Officer, you’ll help manage and grow Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital’s digital presence across websites, email communications, social media, and online campaigns. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our digital content is engaging, accurate, timely, and aligned with our brand and mission. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety in their work. One day, you may be updating website content and building email campaigns, while the next day you could be scheduling social media content, supporting digital advertising efforts, analyzing campaign performance, or photographing an event.

Requirements

  • Experience with digital communications, social media management, content publishing, or related work.
  • Experience working with websites, content management systems, email platforms, and social media scheduling tools.
  • Strong writing, organization, and communication skills.
  • Experience reviewing analytics and using data to improve content performance.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfort adapting content for different audiences and digital platforms.
  • Willingness to work occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends for events and campaigns.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a nonprofit, membership-based, mission-driven, or youth-serving organization.
  • Experience with tools such as Sprout Social, Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Canva, or Adobe Experience Manager.
  • Experience with photography, digital asset management, or event coverage.
  • Familiarity with SEO and accessibility best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage website updates, landing pages, and routine CMS publishing.
  • Build, test, schedule, and deploy email communications and digital campaigns.
  • Manage daily social media posting and engagement across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
  • Monitor comments, inboxes, and community engagement while maintaining brand voice and responsiveness.
  • Support paid social campaigns and digital advertising initiatives.
  • Track and report on digital performance metrics including engagement, reach, clicks, and conversions.
  • Apply SEO best practices to improve visibility and audience engagement.
  • Capture and organize photography and digital assets for campaigns and events.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support council-wide communications and marketing initiatives.
