This is a full-time ACC AmeriCorps position with Hillsboro Public Library. The American Connection Corps (ACC), an AmeriCorps program of Lead For America (LFA), is a service fellowship program aimed at helping communities build the digital connectivity necessary to expand opportunity and economic mobility. ACC Members spend a year serving with locally-rooted organizations, helping address the digital divide and strengthen access to opportunity. Through their service, they gain hands-on experience, build in-demand skills, and explore career pathways while making a tangible impact in their communities. Hillsboro Public Library's mission is "For Everyone - Para Todos". They have two library branches serving a community of about 110,000 people, including one of the most diverse populations in the state. The library is a department of the City of Hillsboro and a partner in the WCCLS cooperative. The ACC Member will serve as a Digital Navigator at Shute Park Library, helping advance digital equity and inclusion by providing direct support to community members navigating technology barriers. The Member will provide direct assistance with foundational digital skills, internet access, devices, and online services, while supporting the delivery of digital literacy workshops tailored to diverse community needs. Through patient, culturally responsive, and relationship-centered service, the Member will help individuals access essential resources, educational opportunities, employment tools, and community connections. Their service will strengthen trust between the library and the community while expanding access to technology resources and building digital confidence for underserved populations.
